Overnight oats are the breakfast that makes mornings easy: mix, refrigerate, eat. Below is the reliable base ratio, then five flavours we rotate through. Each jar keeps for 4 days in the fridge.

Method

  1. Add all the base ingredients to a jar or container with a lid. Stir very well so there are no dry pockets of oats or chia.
  2. Stir in the flavour ingredients for your chosen version (save any nuts or fresh fruit toppings for the morning if you like them crunchy).
  3. Seal and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  4. In the morning, stir, loosen with a splash of milk if it's thick, add toppings and eat cold — or microwave for 60 seconds if you prefer it warm.

💡 VeggieTip notes

  • Make 4–5 jars on Sunday for the whole working week.
  • Not sweet enough? Ripe banana or a few dates blended into the milk add natural sweetness.
  • For extra protein, stir a scoop of protein powder into the milk before adding.
