About VeggieTip
VeggieTip started with one simple frustration: most vegetarian recipes online are either bland, ridiculously complicated, or secretly need an ingredient you can only buy in one shop in one city.
What you'll find here
Every recipe on this site is 100% meat-free. Many are vegan, lots are gluten-free, and all of them are written for normal kitchens: a hob, an oven, a pan, and ingredients from a regular supermarket.
We focus on three things:
- Flavour first. Vegetables are not a punishment. Roasting, charring, acid, salt, fat and spice do the heavy lifting in every recipe.
- Real timings. "20 minutes" means 20 minutes for an ordinary cook, not a chef with three assistants.
- Filling food. Beans, lentils, tofu, eggs, cheese, nuts and whole grains keep you full — nobody should leave the table hungry.
How recipes are made
Recipes are cooked, adjusted and cooked again before they go live. Timings, quantities and nutrition estimates are checked, and we update recipes whenever readers spot something that can be clearer.
Who's behind it
VeggieTip is an independent, hobby-run website based in Germany, made by people who simply love good food and cook meat-free at home. It isn't owned by a food brand and doesn't push products.
