Method

Cook macaroni 2 minutes short of packet time.
Melt butter, stir in flour, then gradually whisk in milk; cook until thick.
Whisk in pumpkin, cheddar, mustard and nutmeg.
Combine with pasta and place in a baking dish.
Mix crumbs with sage and a little oil; scatter over and bake at 200°C for 20 minutes.
